This this this - it's funny, 'cause the first half of the story really is kinda angsty (not in terms of the story itself but in terms of what both Rukawa and Sakuragi are talking about), but when I finished reading all I could think of was "waaaahhhhh SO CUTE!!!!" I wish this happened in cannon ::chinhands::

OMG the fluff, the cuteness, the sweetness! This is a series of 5 RuHana kisses done interview-style (so it's all Hanamichi's point of view), and it goes from crack to silly to sweet to angst to all over the spectrum, and it's adorable. Fics like this remind me why RuHana is my OTP :D

This is such a cute fic because it's all in what they don't say to each other - they're such actions-speak-louder-than-words boys, but half the time they don't even realize what they're doing :) And they're also so ass-backwards in showing their affection, it just makes me want to cackle out loud and then squish them close <3 The grammar and phrases sometimes are a little off (just a tiny bit - looks more like the author was thinking in another language and translated it directly into English), but overall the fic is LOVE.

So I really like RuHana fics that stay true to their personalities and their interactions... I mean c'mon, Slam Dunk is such a guy's/sports manga, from the era where shounen manga really was just that, and no innuendo or yaoi hints whatsoever. And so as much as I like good smut, fics like this that are just cute and boys being boys hit all my buttons. Plus, Rukawa babbling has to be the cutest thing ever.

This is an anniversary fic that isn't really an anniversary fic... I love it because you can so clearly see the affection between the Rukawa and Sakuragi (I don't get some of the fics where all they do is call each other do'ahou and kitsune - I mean, yes they call each other that, but they both have names, which people would at least sometimes use if you were in a relationship, yeah?) But it's just really cute, how you can see they really care about each other, and even when they make fun of each other the affection just shines through. I want to cuddle this fic and SQUISH it XD

So when I fall for something, I fall HARD - which means I've been mainlining the internet for Slam Dunk fic for the past two weeks (when I'm not busy re-reading the manga again and again) XD The only challenge is that this is such an old series that most of the fancraze for it has died down... although I'm still managing to find some good ones, such as Ju's fic :)
I think Ju is mainly a RuHana lover and a Sendoh/Maki one... but she has all these quiet little slices of RuHana life that fit their personalities perfectly, and fill you with such contentment and "d'awwww" to read :) I really like this story because it shows you that not all love stories need to be epic! Drama! Crazy-obstacles-but-true-love-shines-through! Even it the little things you say and don't say, love comes through. This is soooo sweet <3

Pay Attention Please

So I just finished reading Slam Dunk like two days ago. Slam Dunk was one of those comics that were huge when I was in elementary school, but I never got around to reading it (I was too busy being a huge Sailor Moon fan), but I remember the craze and all the girls sighing over Rukawa Kaede, and I would still watch whatever random anime episode showed up on TV. Now that I've read it I-I-I... I TOTALLY understand what the hype was all about, OMG, basketball is AMAZING.
Ahem. To the actual fic XD I remember seeing some sort of RuHana fic when I was in junior high, so I knew there were slash pairings for this fandom, but after reading the manga I was like... this is such a typical shounen manga, with all the affection between the characters being all about teammates and playing together and stuff, I didn't even see any potential pairings. But I decided to give fanfic a try because, let's face it, I wanted MOAR story XD This fic actually made me go "oohhhh I can really see the RuHana in this," because the characters felt true to themselves even though there was all this BL emotion going on, and it made me laugh out loud in places because Hanamichi is such an idiot sometimes (also, back gremlins? BEST KIND OF GREMLIN EVER), and made me go all gooey and "d'aawwwww" in others because Kaede having emotions is just so cute, and the whole thing was just... just... warm and fuzzy and mmmm snuggle :P I wish there were more RuHana fic like this.
