Kurama is living out his ningen family's days, while Hiei is in the Makai working for Mukuro. Kurama is a creature of habit, but Hiei's been gone so long that he no longer needs to keep his window unlocked.... right? lady_flamewing does an amazing job of capturing both Kurama and Hiei's emotions while keeping true to their characters, from Kurama's angst in the beginning to the display in the end, and it is such a gorgeous flow of feeling.
