Erik and Charles fused with the storyline of "An Affair to Remember." There have been a bunch of "what would happen if Erik found out that Charles is now in a wheelchair, particularly since it was caused by him and he was already so broken up when Charles got hurt the first time," and this is a beautiful take on that scenario. What is so special about this story is that there is kind of a happy ending, but at the same time it's not all hearts and flowers and fluff - it's still complicated and not happily ever after, but it's so them it's heartbreaking. As much as I want them to just be happily growing old together, stories like this also tug at my heart :)
