Aha, ahahahahhahaha. Hitsugaya/Matsumoto is a pairing that kinda snuck up on me; I literally one day went hmmmm... why not? While reading various other bits of fiction, and now they have become my OTP as well. This is just so... it's hilarious, with Hitsugaya's zanpakutou being snarky and wise by turns ("Oh, it wasn't any big deal. I just thought it would make things easier for you if I asked Haineko--charming young lady, by the way, she's got these adorably wee tufted ears and the cutest little bob-tail--to put in a word on your behalf"), that made me laugh out loud at so many places, and a sweet ending that was just all awwwwww.
